Throughout the entire pandemic, when the world stopped and things were locked down, I started messing with my trucks. I decided to start working designs, and the sampling process began shortly after. I went through so many different versions of the hangers and baseplates, experimenting with different bushings, bushing heights, hardnesses, turning radius, kingpins, polishes, and the list goes on for over two years. Finally, I got the truck to where I really like it. The main thing I wanted in a truck was to have the best grind clearance I could get without messing up the turn I wanted. I also wanted the truck to be strong, light, and have a classic look and feel. At the end of all this, it's just me trying to create something new with Slappy Trucks.

What Slappy Trucks is about

Slappy Trucks exists for the reason Mike spells out above: the best grind clearance possible without giving up a good turn. That idea runs through the whole ST1 range, and the inverted and low-profile models push it furthest by keeping the kingpin out of the way on grinds.

The ST1 lineup

The Classic is the familiar standard truck. Hollow Lights cut weight with a hollow kingpin and hollow axle. The Hollow Low Profile sits lower for smaller wheels. The Inverted Hollow Lights / Ultra Low Kingpin and the Curb Killer II Hollow Inverted flip the kingpin for maximum clearance, and the wide Hollows go up to 13 for bigger boards. Sizes and weights are on the spec chart.

Built to be rebuilt

Slappy sells its parts one at a time - bushings in several durometers, pivot cups, baseplates, hangers, hardware, risers and tools - so a worn piece gets replaced, not the whole truck. See replacement parts and the warranty.
